Citations & Profiles
Foundational profile and citation links that establish brand consistency across the web. Less glamorous than guest posts, more important than founders realize - especially for local businesses, trust signals, and entity recognition in Google's knowledge graph.
Citations are the boring asset everyone skips and then regrets. Google's knowledge graph reads consistent NAP (name, address, phone) data across hundreds of citation sites as a primary trust signal - for local businesses it is determinative for local pack rankings, and for any business it is a meaningful entity-recognition input.
The reason most sites have a fragmented citation footprint is that nobody in a marketing team enjoys filling out 200 directory forms with identical data. We do that work, but we also catch the inconsistencies that build up over years (an old phone number on Yelp, a typo'd address on BBB, a different business name on Crunchbase) that quietly degrade your local rankings.
Output is two things: a clean, consistent citation footprint live across the web, and a tracker you can hand to whoever is doing local SEO maintenance going forward. We are not your perpetual citation manager; we set up the asset cleanly so your in-house team or local SEO consultant can keep it that way.

Is this the right fit?
We are deliberate about who we take on - it is how the quality bar holds.
- Local businesses with physical locations targeting specific metros
- Multi-location service businesses needing consistent metro coverage
- New brands establishing baseline entity recognition across the web
- SaaS and B2B brands needing trust-signal citation footprint (Crunchbase, BBB)
- Sites with no NAP information to standardize (pure digital, no business identity)
- Anyone expecting citations to drive ranking on competitive commercial keywords (they do not)
- Brands with massive existing inconsistencies needing dedicated cleanup (different scope)
- Buyers expecting backlink-style ranking signals (most citations are nofollow)

What's included
Every engagement ships with these as standard.
200+ citation sites
Top general directories (Crunchbase, BBB, Yelp where relevant) plus industry-specific citation sites for your vertical.
NAP consistency
Name, address, phone - identical formatting across every citation. We catch and flag existing inconsistencies before they propagate further.
Profile completion
Logo, description, hours, social links, photos. Incomplete profiles get less ranking weight; we maximize each one.
Local citations (if relevant)
For local businesses, we include city-specific directories, Chamber of Commerce, BBB chapter, and industry trade citations.
Existing-citation cleanup recommendations
We flag duplicate, incorrect, or abandoned existing listings with prioritized fix order. Cleanup execution is your scope (or extra).
Tracker with login credentials
Final tracker includes login credentials for every citation we created - yours to keep and maintain or hand to a local SEO consultant.
The details that decide the outcome
Audit first, then submit
Submitting before auditing creates duplicates and amplifies existing NAP inconsistency. The audit takes 3-5 days and saves weeks of cleanup later.
NAP canonicalization is irreversible
Once we standardize on a NAP format and submit it across hundreds of sites, changing it later is expensive (each citation needs to be edited individually). We make sure the format is durable before locking it in.
Local citations follow metro logic
Local Premium covers up to 3 metros - multi-location businesses need each metro's local directories, Chamber of Commerce, BBB chapter, and trade citations. Beyond 3 metros we scope custom.

Citations & Profiles - answered
For local businesses, yes - they are a primary trust signal for Google's local algorithm. For pure SaaS, less so, but a baseline citation footprint still helps brand search and entity association in the knowledge graph.
We audit, identify the dominant existing NAP format, and recommend whether to standardize or accept the inconsistency. Sometimes inheriting a partial inconsistency is better than rewriting hundreds of legacy listings.
Local Premium includes a GBP audit and recommendations. We do not take admin access to your GBP - you implement, we advise.
Most citation links are nofollow. The value is in NAP consistency and entity recognition, not raw link juice.
We flag duplicates in the audit and recommend a fix order. Actual deduplication (claiming, merging, or requesting removal) is sometimes a multi-week process per listing - out of scope for the standard package, available as add-on.
Not on competitive commercial keywords. They will move the needle on local-pack rankings and brand-search performance. Treat citations as a foundation, not a growth lever.
Once the foundation is set, ongoing maintenance is light - quarterly check-ins for accuracy, annual review of new directories worth submitting to. Most clients do not need to re-engage us yearly.
Local Premium covers up to 3 metros. Beyond 3 metros (national chains, multi-region service businesses) we scope a custom engagement.
